Job Summary
Finance Manager role at NRC Ethiopia leading financial planning, budgeting, donor compliance, and internal controls for the country programme; provides strategic financial leadership, advises senior management, strengthens financial systems, supports sub-recipients/partners, and champions new financial strategies and tools to enable effective humanitarian delivery. Requires MA degree and professional accounting qualifications, senior-level finance experience in humanitarian or recovery contexts,ERP proficiency, and strong English communication. Duty station Addis Ababa; 30% travel; contract through 31 Dec 2026; equal opportunity employer. Responsibilities include enabling cash-based interventions through SOP development, risk assessment, maintaining robust financial management, ensuring donor compliance, and staff development.
Required Qualifications
- University MA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a senior finance Coordinator in a complex humanitarian or recovery context
- Experience working in large-scale, complex and volatile environments
- Documented results related to financial leadership and management responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of leadership and people management
- Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and financial software
- Strong knowledge of donor regulations including EU, ECHO, USAID and UN donors
- Experience managing consortium programmes or lead agency responsibilities
- Knowledge of cash-based interventions and financial service provider assessments
- Fluency in English, written and verbal
- Experience conducting or leading administrative investigations is an advantage
- Advanced people management, coaching and mentoring skills
- Excellent financial analysis, forecasting and strategic planning skills
- Experience in South Sudan or similar humanitarian contexts is desirable
