Job Summary
Manage restricted donation reporting and partner with the Fundraising team to ensure accurate expense allocation and donor alignment. Lead the Finance department in Brazil, design and maintain a global internal controls framework, and oversee annual accounting and tax filings across international operations. Develop global financial policies, identify process automation opportunities, and conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support the Vice President of Finance. Provide peer review of financial results and communicate complex financial information clearly across functional and geographic areas. This role supports Mercy For Animals' mission to end industrial animal agriculture by ensuring data integrity and regulatory adherence in a diverse, collaborative environment. Fluency in English and Portuguese is required, along with experience in international financial practices and the ability to represent the organization's values.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant experience in a similar role in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related fields
- Knowledge of financial management and accounting practices in Brazil
- Experience in international financial practices
- Knowledge and application of accounting principles, including financial statements
- Results-oriented with excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
- Availability to travel
- Fluency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken)
