Job Summary
Finance Manager - Budget & Reporting responsible for developing donor budgets and amendments, preparing timely financial reports and cash forecasts, conducting monthly budget variance analyses and grants reconciliations, and supporting audits across multiple grants in an NGO setting. The role emphasizes ensuring compliance with donor regulations, coordinating with budget holders, training finance staff and partners, and delivering accurate financial analyses and reporting to enable program decision-making. Requires a Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/CIMA/CA preferred) and a minimum of several years of NGO finance experience, with proficiency in English and Bangla, and strong accounting systems and donor compliance skills.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting / Finance
- Professional certification such as CPA/CIMA/CFS/CMA/ACCA/ACA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in humanitarian/development contexts
- Minimum 3 years in a similar role with international NGOs
- Experience with computerized accounting systems and standard spreadsheet/database programs
- Familiarity with financial compliances of US grants, ECHO, FCDO, UN agencies, SIDA, DFAT and other foundations
- Proven ability to prepare donor budgets, budget amendments, financial reports, cash forecasts, and quarterly grant reconciliations
- Strong English and Bangla communication skills
- Ability to train budget holders and coordinate audits
- Experience in budget preparation and management across multiple grants
- Capacity to monitor exchange rate gains/losses and provide actionable recommendations
- Experience with donor reporting formats and timelines
- Experience in grant audits and NGOAB audits
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
- Strong problem-solving skills
