Job Summary
Manage customer invoicing and contract billing to ensure accuracy and timely submission while monitoring accounts receivable and coordinating collection activities. Process and reconcile accounts payable transactions, support payroll review, and prepare monthly financial reports, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation. Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and expense tracking, and monitor contract funding, labor utilization, and project financial performance. Maintain financial records ensuring compliance with established accounting procedures and internal controls, and support month-end and year-end close activities. Coordinate with program managers to track project expenditures, assist with financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy. Occasional travel may be required for team meetings, audits, or acquisition-related activities, and hours beyond a 40-hour work week may be needed during month-end closing or audit periods.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal government contractors
- Experience with Unanet, QuickBooks, Deltek or similar accounting systems
- Familiarity with government contract invoicing and project accounting
- Experience supporting financial reviews, audits, or acquisition integrations
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with limited supervision
- Occasional travel may be required for team meetings, audits, or acquisition-related activities
- Hours beyond a 40-hour work week may occasionally be required during month-end closing, audit periods, or acquisition activities
- Candidates located within the Eastern Time Zone are strongly preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or equivalent professional certification
- Experience supporting SCA contracts
- Three (3) years of experience supporting federal government contracting environments
- Knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA audit requirements, and indirect rate structures
- Experience supporting small to mid-sized federal government contractors
- Experience managing audits, incurred cost submissions, and financial compliance initiatives
- Master's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
