Job Summary
Finance Manager oversees day-to-day accounting operations (general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, treasury), prepares monthly financial statements and management reports, manages budgeting and forecasting, optimizes cash flow and working capital, and ensures GAAP compliance and internal controls. The role combines hands-on accounting leadership with strategic financial planning, partnering with leadership to translate financial data into actionable insights for pricing, investment, and growth. Leads a small finance team (3–4 staff) with financial oversight of payroll, and collaborates with an external accounting firm for tax filings. Emphasis on building structure, improving clarity, and scaling processes while balancing tactical execution and strategic guidance.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally in a small business, startup, or high-growth environment.
- Proven experience creating and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls, applied pragmatically.
- Experience managing cash flow and supporting leadership decision-making.
- Prior experience leading or mentoring a small team preferred.
- CPA, CMA, or similar certification is a plus, not a requirement.
