Job Summary
Assist with data gathering, analysis, and preparation of reports while investigating data issues to provide accurate updates to the team. Run regular and ad-hoc reports using established templates and update business dashboards to ensure stakeholders have the latest information. Help ensure data accuracy and integrity across all reports, then identify practical opportunities to improve workflows through automation, AI-enabled tools, and process enhancements. This 8- or 12-month placement supports the Planning & Performance Management team within Zurich Canada's Finance department, where you will work under direct supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled or recently completed bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Economics, Computer/Data Science, or a related field
- Experience in data, reporting, or analytical support role (internships and placements welcome)
- Be legally eligible to work in Canada
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with dashboard or data visualization tools (such as Power BI) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and an organized approach to work
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn from others
- Previous coursework, project experience, or work experience involving data analysis, dashboard development, business intelligence, AI, machine learning, automation, or process improvement
- Experience participating in school, volunteer, or work projects where data was used to support a recommendation, improve a process, or tell a clear business story
- Experience with data visualization, storytelling, or presenting insights to non-technical audiences through class projects, case competitions, internships, or extracurricular activities
- Experience working in a team-based project environment, including gathering input, organizing work, meeting deadlines, and incorporating feedback
