Job Summary
Analyze financials, capital expenditures, and cost center expenses while conducting risk-based internal audits of operational, financial, and information technology functions globally. Support modeling efforts and review income, balance sheet, profit and loss, and consolidated statements. Perform market, industry, and category analysis to inform strategies. This full-time, paid summer internship runs for 10–11 weeks at Medtronic's Minneapolis, MN headquarters, requiring U.S. work authorization. Participants gain broad exposure to global organizations and leadership teams through special projects critical to business strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Working toward a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with an anticipated graduation date of Winter 2027, Spring 2028, Winter 2028, Spring 2029
- Ability to participate full time, 40 hours per week, as part of the intern cohort from June 1-August 14 for semester system programs or June 15-August 21 for quarter system programs
- Applicants for Medtronic's Summer Internship Program must be currently authorized to work in the United States
- Individuals on temporary visa classifications, including E, F‐1 (CPT or OPT), H‐1, H‐2, L, B, J, or TN, as well as anyone who requires employment sponsorship now or in the future, are not eligible for the Program
- For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile
- The employee is also required to interact with a computer, and communicate with peers and co-workers
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Experience with team-based academic, extracurricular, internship, or professional projects
- Relevant coursework, academic projects, case competitions, and/or internship experience in finance, accounting, economics, business, analytics, or related fields
- Experience analyzing data and developing recommendations through coursework, projects, research, or internships
- Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines across academic, work, or extracurricular commitments
- Interest in corporate finance, FP&A, treasury, operations finance, or business analytics demonstrated through coursework, projects, internships, or student involvement
- Exposure to financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, or data visualization
