Job Summary
Finance Grant Manager responsible for 100% grant financial compliance for United Way and funded subcontractors on federal, state, city, and private grants; develops systems for submitting and monitoring funding and reimbursement requests to grantors and subcontractors, liaises with grant program managers on grant issues, ensures financials, invoices, and reporting to internal and external stakeholders are accurate, and may oversee staff accountants. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field, five years of progressively responsible accounting experience (preferably in nonprofit environments), experience with fiscal monitoring of grants, knowledge of GAAP and GAS, and knowledge of Texas and federal grant regulations. Hybrid work option in Austin, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in Accounting, preferably in a non-profit environment
- Minimum of two years experience with fiscal monitoring of grant contracts, preferably with state or federal grants or contracts
- Knowledge of GAAP and Governmental Accounting Standards
- Knowledge of Texas state and federal grant regulations, including Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards
- Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, problem solve and bring initiative and self-direction
- Ability to maintain regular and effective communication with colleagues and funders
- Demonstrated experience with budget preparation, analysis, and financial reporting
- Willingness to function as an internal “service provider” to other staff
