Job Summary
Act as a strategic right hand to the Director of Finance & People, preparing decision briefs and running cross-functional initiatives to serve as a sparring partner to the management team. Own and manage key financial processes including monthly, quarterly, and annual close while coordinating with external auditors across multiple jurisdictions. Ensure continuity and integrity of financial reporting by maintaining compliance with German accounting standards (HGB) and IFRS. Drive operational controlling through budget planning, financial forecasting, and liquidity management, then build and deliver monthly financial reporting with data-driven analysis to inform growth and investment decisions. Identify and implement automation opportunities across finance workflows using AI tools, low-code platforms, and smart integrations to support the digital finance foundation. Manage relationships with external advisors including tax, audit, and legal providers. This fully on-site role in Berlin, Germany requires fluency in German and English, with visa sponsorship not available.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of finance experience, ideally from a Big 4 advisory firm or a high-growth startup (or both)
- Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field from a strong university
- Strong analytical mindset with advanced Excel proficiency
- Hands-on experience with FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, controlling, and liquidity management
- Solid knowledge of German accounting (HGB) and familiarity with IFRS
- Experience using AI tools to automate and improve finance workflows
- Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken)
- Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable operating at pace in a startup environment
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- A genuine builder mindset with a focus on process improvement and automation
- This is a fully on-site role based in Berlin, Germany
- Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Berlin

Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with BI tools (e.g. Looker, Power BI, Metabase) or low-code platforms
