Job Summary
Finance Director responsible for leadership in financial management for SJPLF, overseeing accounting, procurement, and financial reporting for a $6M budget. Lead finance team, manage monthly close, audits, internal controls, and investment/budget strategy. Develop organizational budgets, KPIs, and reporting; prepare financial reports for funding proposals; communicate results to the CEO, Board finance committee, and external funders; manage relationships with financial vendors; ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and standards. Requires extensive nonprofit finance experience, senior leadership capability, and strong communication skills. This is a hybrid role based in San José, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent; CPA or CFA certification preferred
- Ten or more years of experience in nonprofit accounting and financial management
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and project management software
- Experience in effectively managing and developing a strong staff team
- Knowledge of GAAP for not-for-profit entities and budgeting
