Job Summary

Oversee the Finance department's operations, including payroll, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with state and federal laws. Lead the monthly close, manage accounts payable and receivable, and forecast cash flow to support borrowing needs and investment strategies. Prepare and present annual operating and capital budgets to the Board, analyze variances, and develop fiscal policies. Manage the Enterprise Resource Planning system and coordinate annual audits while maintaining relationships with external auditors. Supervise technical staff, evaluate performance, and ensure accurate capture of revenues and expenditures in financial systems. Partner with program leaders to integrate finance functions with operations and educate staff on accounting procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
  • Five years increasing level of responsibility and experience
  • Nine years related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • MPA, MBA may substitute two (2) years of experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex financial documents, regulations, and technical reports
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in professional business English
  • Ability to perform complex accounting and finance math including calculations of fractions, percentages and/or ratios
  • Significant experience with public accounting practices and compliance
  • Solid experience and proficiency working with Microsoft 365 products
  • Knowledge of ERP accounting and reporting software
  • Must have the ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to read technical information
  • Ability to compose a variety of documents including comprehensive financial reports
  • Ability to facilitate group discussions
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands
