Job Summary
Validate general ledger accuracy, record and summarize financial transactions per GAAP, and prepare designated financial reports on a regularly scheduled basis. Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger, oversee accounts payable to ensure timely vendor payments, and process Medicare, Medicaid, and private pay bills. Develop financial reports for forecasting and analysis, coordinate year-end audits, and maintain banking relationships. Focus on cost reduction and revenue enhancement strategies while serving as a resource for budget preparation. Maintain a safe work environment and exhibit safe work practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Three to five years' accounting and finance experience
- Experience with general ledger close
- Experience with financial statement preparation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word
- Proficiency in other key business financial or business management systems
- Must be able to sit at a desk for up to six hours per day
- Must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, and squat to access files and various documentation
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds

- Related healthcare accounting and finance experience
- Previous long-term care or hospital accounting and finance experience
- Willingness to grow personally and develop staff
