Job Summary
Finance Director/Controller overseeing all financial and accounting activities for a manufacturing company in Syracuse, NY. Responsibilities include managing accounts payable/receivable and general ledger operations, supervising the accounting team, delivering financial reports with actionable insights, ensuring GAAP compliance and regulatory filings, coordinating annual audits, monitoring cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, designing internal controls, developing financial policies, supporting strategic planning through financial analysis, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive process improvements and support growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software; advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
