Job Summary
The Finance Coordinator supports the day-to-day financial operations of Community Forklift, with primary responsibility for bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, payroll support, and financial recordkeeping. The role processes payments, invoices and expenses using key software systems, records financial transactions, ensures accuracy of records and statements, and assists with audits. The position reports to the Deputy Director of Finance, HR, and Operations and collaborates with staff to maintain compliance with accounting principles and nonprofit requirements, develop budgets and forecasts, and provide financial analysis and dashboards to drive efficiency and cost savings.
Required Qualifications
- Degree or certificate in accounting or bookkeeping preferred
- Experience with general ledger accounting
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software
- Intermediate level in Excel
- Familiarity with non-profit and accrual accounting
- Experience with a bill payment system
- Ability to work with a diverse range of people with varied backgrounds and personalities
- Knowledge and enthusiasm for recycling, reuse, sustainability, environmental advocacy and green business
- Familiarity with building materials or architectural salvage a plus
