Job Summary
Conduct periodic budget variance analysis, prepare annual financial statements for the Water and Sewer Fund, and lead the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. Monitor financial data integrity against GASB and GAAP standards while supervising staff accountants and budget specialists. Administer the annual budget process, coordinate publishing of proposed and adopted budgets, and provide ongoing revenue and expenditure analysis. Review credit card processing, approve financial software maintenance, and assist with debt issuances, cash management, and systems implementations. Serve as the department liaison with IT and perform the Finance Director's duties in their absence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in governmental finance, accounting, or budgeting including supervisory experience
- Two years of demonstrably successful professional finance/accounting supervisory experience, preferably in a municipal government environment
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Government Finance Manager (CGFM)
- Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO)
- Successful experience in the management and/or implementation of financial ERP systems
