Job Summary

Oversee the agency's daily financial operations by managing bookkeeping, reconciling accounts payable and receivable, and processing bi-weekly payroll. Track invoices to foundations, government agencies, and partners while assisting with monthly government fund reimbursement and month-end closing procedures. Own tracking of all revenue sources, perform month-end closing, and support leadership and external auditors in preparing quarterly, annual, and 990 reports. Manage inventory for agency equipment and coordinate office maintenance with the landlord. Create and update the organizational and financial operations manual, assist with employee onboarding, and maintain operational charts for board, staff, and grant funders.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or other relevant fields. Equivalent years of experience could be considered in lieu of a college degree.
  • Three (3) or more years' experience in managing bookkeeping, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Bill.com
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of Excel and basic bookkeeping skills are required
  • Familiarity with nonprofit and government grant accounting highly preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to relate and work well with people from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural groups.
  • Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple priorities while remaining professional and calm.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to be accurate, even at a fast pace and high-volume level of work
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed and flexible.
  • Ability to perform functions with minimal supervision.
  • A self-motivated thinker and doer who can work independently and with a team.
