Job Summary

Finance and HR Compliance Manager overseeing payroll, financial administration, HR administration, and regulatory compliance for a hotel. Responsibilities include managing bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls, timekeeping review, wage-and-hour compliance, payroll tax reporting, deductions, 401k/retirement reporting, workers’ compensation payments, and responding to payroll inquiries. Also responsible for labor cost monitoring, budgeting support, reconciliations, internal controls, audits, policy development, and training programs; serves as primary liaison during labor, payroll, HR, and regulatory audits. Leadership duties include partnering with department heads on workforce planning, guiding employment policies, training managers on HR, payroll, and compliance best practices, and driving a positive, accountable workplace culture. Required skills include strong knowledge of payroll administration, wage-and-hour regulations, accounting principles, multi-source reporting, Excel proficiency, and excellent communication, with California employment law knowledge and hospitality industry experience preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in payroll, HR administration, finance, or compliance management
  • Hospitality industry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and accounting software
  • California employment law knowledge required
