Job Summary
Conduct daily bookkeeping using non-profit fund accounting allocations in QuickBooks Online and prepare government grant monthly invoicing. Perform reconciliations across systems, identify root causes of discrepancies, and improve processes to prevent recurrence. Manage day-to-day fund accounting processes, including creating and submitting grant invoices, tracking expenditures, and maintaining clear audit trails for compliance with Uniform Guidance. Review and distribute employee expense reimbursements, monitor operating cash flow, and assist with annual financial audits. Coordinate with program staff to ensure proper billing documentation and maintain relationships with funders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- at least 3 years' experience in non-profit accounting
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge & experience in non-profit accounting including government grants and contracts
- Familiarity with CFR 200 Uniform Guidance
- Planning & Organizing – ability to track multiple budgets and complex contracts
- Interpersonal & Communications – ability to communicate with supervisor(s) and peers to ensure proper accounting management
- Integrity – analyzes situations and challenges to reliably make sound decisions
- Time Management – ability to prioritize tasks, manage time and complete projects in a fast-paced environment
- required in-office minimum of 3 days per week
