Job Summary
Establish effective accounting systems, internal controls, and budgetary procedures to oversee daily financial operations, including ledger management, payroll, and donor fund allocation. Prepare accurate financial reports for management, stakeholders, and donors while coordinating with external auditors to ensure compliance with financial laws and standards. Manage organizational assets, logistics, and inventory to support efficient project execution in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene sectors. Act as a liaison with banks, partners, and donors to maintain transparent communication and secure funding diversification.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelors degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
- 6 - 8 years of financial management experience
- Solid experience with Project Accounting
- Experience working with international donors
- Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment affecting NGOs
Desired Qualifications
- An advanced degree like an MBA
- Professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA
- Experience in an NGO or a similar nonprofit environment
- Exposure to environmental sustainability and rural development
- Understanding of donor-specific financial reporting and compliance requirements
- Understanding of environmental work and international operations
