Job Summary
Process vendor bills, download credit card transactions, and manage cash disbursements while tracking recurring payables and preparing draft reports. Handle client invoice processing, post payments, and download revenue entries from third-party applications. Administer sales tax exemptions, prepare sales tax returns, and reconcile bank statements. Assign accurate accounting codes across AP, AR, and GL, and assist with fixed asset and general ledger analyses. Support new vendor setups, 1099 processing, and W-9 administration. Engage in prospect networking, complete special projects, and work overtime during month-end close. Requires an associate's degree in accounting with a 3.0 GPA and strong Microsoft Office skills.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in accounting or business management
- minimum 3.0 GPA
- demonstrated success in a staff accountant position
- Knowledgeable of the basic principles of accounting and general ledger chart of accounts
- Ability to multi-task and to work independently with minimal supervision in a matrix supervisory environment
- Ability to work overtime when required during month-end close and special projects
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business management
- Experience in a similar role in industry
- Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office 2007 or later (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook at a minimum, more applications preferred)
- Experience working in a paperless environment
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Team player with a positive 'can-do' approach
- A general and growing knowledge of firm products and services in the practice area, and a general knowledge of products and services in other practice areas
