Job Summary
Finance Analyst position at Magellan Aerospace in Winnipeg, MB. Responsible for variance analysis of budgets/forecasts, cost and margin analysis for multiple products, preparation of journal entries (sales and cost accruals, deferred revenue adjustments), overhead costing rate calculations, inventory budgeting/forecasting, participation in internal audit inventory counts across Winnipeg and Rockwood facilities, coordination with program managers in monthly meetings, weekly updates on POC revenues and costs to program managers, preparation of yearly audit working papers and response to audit inquiries, and support for other departments. Requires CPA-badged candidate or final-year CPA student, 3–5 years in cost accounting/financial reporting (IFRS), manufacturing experience preferred, strong Excel/Access skills, and willingness to work on-site. Required Qualifications
- Final year student or graduate in good standing of a professional accounting association (CPA)
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in Cost Accounting / Financial Reporting (including IFRS application)
- PoC (Percentage of Completion) accounting experience would be considered a strong asset
- Big4 experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage and organize multiple work activities to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Access
- On-site availability at Winnipeg, Manitoba facility
