Finance Analyst (Clinical Trials)

Job Summary
Manage financially a portfolio of clinical studies by liaising with Project Managers and interdepartmental counterparts for shared projects. Perform detailed analysis of budget-to-actual and forecast data on monthly, quarterly, and annual bases, recognizing revenue and conducting cost analysis to maintain financial health. Report to gross profit levels, update key reconciliations, and perform regular profitability analysis while maintaining cash flow throughout the project's life. Attend monthly project review calls to report values and make recommendations for addressing customer or partner concerns. Work standard hours Monday through Friday as part of the Operations Finance department at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years)
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Solid analytical and quantitative skills and ability to handle data effectively
- Strong organizational and project administration skills
- Ability to prioritize and to meet multiple deadlines
- Ability to work in a team and to work using own initiative with minimal direct supervision
- Ability to adapt quickly to systems and processes
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of data
- Good understanding of accounting/financial principles and regulations/legal requirements
