Job Summary
Coordinate warehouse labor activities to assure high production levels and quality of work. Provide training to new associates on Metropolitan standards for loading, unloading, packaging, and scan discipline. Accurately check labeling, maintain inventory records, and ensure all paperwork processes are completed. Operate equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks while following strict scan guidelines. Assist the Warehouse Manager with shipping, receiving, and day-to-day operations, assuming responsibilities during absences. Follow start and end-of-day tasks while managing urgent operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable attendance
- Attention to detail
- Organized and detailed record keeping
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to push and pull wheeled carts or pallet jacks loaded with merchandise
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead frequently
- Physical stamina and endurance to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle and manipulate small parts or delicate items with precision
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when necessary to address urgent operational needs
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year minimum of previous warehouse supervisory/lead experience
- Experience working with furniture
- Previous Forklift Certification/Experience
