Final Mile Operations Manager

Job Summary
Oversee daily final mile delivery operations, ensuring efficiency, cost control, and adherence to performance metrics while monitoring route optimization strategies. Lead, coach, and develop company associates by overseeing labor scheduling, shift planning, and attendance tracking to foster a culture of accountability. Manage relationships with third-party delivery partners and independent contractors to ensure policy adherence and conduct weekly performance reviews. Drive customer satisfaction by improving on-time delivery rates, reducing damages, and resolving escalations. Maintain warehouse compliance with OSHA regulations through regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and corrective action implementation. Ensure accurate inventory tracking, optimize dock flow efficiency, and develop contingency plans for seasonal demand and logistical disruptions. This onsite role in Tracy, CA requires a data-driven leader with 3-5 years of distribution management experience to drive operational excellence within Williams-Sonoma's expanding supply chain network.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3 - 5 years of relevant distribution or manufacturing management/leadership experience
- In lieu of a degree, 6-8 years of progressively responsible distribution leadership experience
- Data-driven mindset with expertise cost control and operational efficiency
- Ability to lead and coach an hourly employee team
- Manage relationships with third party delivery providers to maintain contractual standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills
- Must be highly organized and process oriented with the ability to complete tasks on time
- Ability to adapt and change processes to keep pace with the evolving business requirements
- Strong technical skills required, but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI reporting
- Expert at understanding Safety and OSHA standards
- Associate must be able to move, lift or carry heavy objects or materials up to 50-100 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Six Sigma Black Belt or demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience
- Knowledge and execution of Final-mile delivery models, including white-glove service and same-day or multi-day delivery routing
- Exposure to furniture manufacturing, distribution and/or big box distribution
- Final Mile Transportation carrier contract negotiations or procurement experience
