Job Summary
Operate company trucks for the pickup, delivery, and transportation of used oil filters along predetermined routes, stopping at various customer sites to collect and deliver materials. Load and unload filters from customer and company locations using a straight truck while maintaining accurate records and providing excellent customer service. Perform routine equipment inspections, complete all required documentation including manifests and e-logs, and actively seek new customers to assist in route expansion. Adhere to DOT rules, OSHA standards, and PPE requirements while maintaining regular communication with the office. This role requires a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement, a valid DOT medical card, and at least two years of related driving experience. The position offers a $6,000 sign-on bonus paid over 12 months, in-depth training, and company-paid Smith System Driver benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Class B CDL and air brake endorsement
- Valid DOT medical card and physical form
- Registration with the Federal Motor Carrier Clearinghouse
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong background in commercial driving, with knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- A good driving record
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure documents
- Ability to complete the required DOT paperwork
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
