Job Summary
Oversee filling and packing operations by teaching and guiding lower-level operators while enforcing Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and safety policies. Monitor product quality through regular testing, seal integrity checks, and dye analysis, making necessary adjustments to fill volume and weight. Manage equipment maintenance by performing minor repairs, troubleshooting machines, and executing sterilization and sanitation cycles including CIP and SIP. Coordinate new employee training, develop operator programs, and ensure all documentation for production, downtime, and sanitation logs is completed accurately. Maintain proper supply levels of caps and cases while inspecting carton entry to prevent machine jams.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years work experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Sufficiently comprehend English
- Comprehend basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, weights and measures, and efficient use of a calculator
- Knowledge and understanding of basic computer and control systems
- Possess mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble, troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on manufacturing equipment
- Ability to communicate both written and orally within the organization
- Basic knowledge of food processing
- Ability to give positive suggestions to improve operations in the work center

- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and move heavier weights using proper equipment and/or team lifting techniques
- Ability to work in an environment that may contain dust, odors, moderate level noise, and temperature and ventilation variations while wearing any appropriate safety and/or protective clean room apparel required (e.g.: safety glasses, gloves, hair net, face mask or respirator, and uniforms)
