Job Summary
Fill-In Rest Area Technicians maintain restrooms, buildings, and grounds, conduct security checks to ensure visitor safety, perform minor repairs and general maintenance, and keep walkways, roadways, and parking areas clear. The role involves indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions, frequent public interaction, and flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays. Ideal candidates work well independently and with others, have janitorial and groundskeeping experience, can follow instructions, and are reliable. Location is Sunset Rest Area (Sunset, OR); travel or relocation is not required beyond local commuting within 60 minutes. Finalists undergo a background check; agency does not offer visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in janitorial tasks, basic repairs, and groundskeeping
- Able to work independently and with others
- Friendly, approachable, and able to assist the public, law enforcement, and staff
- Must reside within 60 minutes of Sunset Rest Area
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and bending/climbing/reaching

- Oregon state government employment eligibility requires work authorization (I-9)
