Job Summary
Conduct commercial walkout surveys to provide new service to end users by defining routes from existing plant to customers and documenting all construction requirements. Perform daily field assignments over varying terrain and in all weather conditions, obtaining correct field information and recording verification for aerial and underground telecommunications including fiber, coax, poles, pedestals, and more. Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications while reading and interpreting maps, drawings, and diagrams associated with CATV projects. This full-time, production-based position requires a valid driver's license, local travel with nightly home returns, and proficiency in MS Excel and digital drawing software.
Required Qualifications
- Commercial Survey experience
- Valid driver's license
- Good driving record
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of cable mapping experience
- Knowledge of cable design and OSP basic construction practices of cable systems
- Able to read and interpret maps, drawings, and diagrams associated with CATV projects
- Strong analytical, observational, and communication skills
- Good computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, & PDF Editor
- Ability to learn new software and technologies
- Ability to draw digitally in software programs like Bluebeam
- Must be highly responsible and self-motivated
- Able to work independently within minimal supervision
- Able to communicate with customers in a professional manner
