Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, and repair a large fleet of light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks across multiple locations, including coordinating on-site repairs and documenting work to meet safety and productivity expectations. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on fuel, exhaust, cooling, AC, engine, transmission, drivetrain, and brake systems for on- and off-road vehicles per DOT and MSHA/OSHA requirements. Maintain company-supplied trucks in a safe manner and conduct annual DOT inspections. Assist heavy equipment mechanics on large projects with small onsite repairs and communicate maintenance concerns timely to plant managers. This role requires working a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, with travel to southwest Ohio and Indiana, and availability to work in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Must follow all MSHA and Mine Site Safety Rules and have a personal commitment to safety 24/7
- Must be self-motivated
- Able to climb in, on and around equipment
- Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- Able to communicate well with operations and meet their needs
- Must be responsible, reliable, and willing to work in all weather conditions
- Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends
- Able to travel
- Must be able to maintain an active company driver's license
- Must be able to read and understand Equipment Maintenance Manuals
- Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical systems
- Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose aftertreatment emission system
Desired Qualifications
- Technical experience preferred
- Two-year technical degree in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or similar preferred
- 5 years of experience preferred
- Computer skills and use of diagnostic tools
- Knowledge of specialized tooling
- Welding and heavy equipment knowledge is preferred
- Basic welding skills desired
- Crane knowledge a plus
- Small engine repair desired
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical systems
- Excellent communication skills
- A good work ethic
- A positive attitude
- Must be able to maintain an active company driver's license
