Job Summary
Operates and supervises student-safe transportation on scheduled routes and special excursions. Performs pre-trip inspections, maintains safe bus operation, enforces student behavior guidelines, ensures timely transport, and documents incidents. Requires CDL Class B with school bus endorsement and air brake, CPR/First Aid, background clearance, and ongoing defensive driving and safety training. Works with teachers, administrators, parents, and staff to provide a safe, reliable transportation experience for students; maintains confidential student information and completes required reports.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Commercial Driver’s License Class B with endorsement for Passenger Vehicles, School Bus endorsement and Air Brake
- CPR/First Aid
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
- DFS
- Motor vehicle Record Review
- Pre-employment Physical Exam
- Pre-employment Drug Screening
- Entry into District Drug/Alcohol Testing Program
- Annual defensive driving program
