Field Technician

Field Technician to install, instrument, operate, and maintain prototype hardware at solar testing sites; responsibilities include installing prototype hardware (foundation work, structural assembly, mechanical components, electrical hookup), installing field instrumentation (strain gauges, load cells, accelerometers, weather monitoring, data acquisition systems), executing daily test protocols and logging results against acceptance criteria, supporting weld inspection and quality verification with the manufacturing team in Woodland, maintaining field test equipment and on-site spare parts inventory, documenting field observations, photographing anomalies, and feeding structured findings back to the engineering team; requires 3+ years of field technician experience in solar/outdoor industrial work, mechanical aptitude with hand/tools and basic fabrication, familiarity with structural and electrical installation practices, valid driver’s license with ability to travel to test sites, and physical ability to lift 50 lbs and perform outdoor work in hot/cold conditions. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred; prior solar or large-scale outdoor hardware installation experience and instrumentation experience are assets.
