Job Summary
Conduct topographic, hydrographic, and boundary surveys across coastal, overwater, and land-based environments. Set up and maintain survey control networks to guide construction activities for marine structures, ports, and bridges. Provide precise layout and alignment data while capturing actual construction dimensions for verification against design specifications. Maintain high precision in measurements to ensure alignment with project plans and tolerances. Communicate effectively with engineers, construction managers, and stakeholders to coordinate survey needs. Requires working knowledge of Total Stations, slope lasers, transits, and levels. Performs duties exclusively outdoors in all weather extremes, involving constant standing, walking, and lifting up to 75 pounds. Must hold a TWIC card and possess good balance and moderate physical strength.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Total Stations, multiple slope lasers, transit and level
- Must have a TWIC card
- Ability to talk and hear is very important for communication with supervisor and co-workers on safety and operational matters
- All aspects of vision are required – acuity, depth perception, and field of vision
- Constant standing, walking, reaching, crawling, balancing, and grasping
- Frequent lifting, carrying, climbing, stooping/crouching, and kneeling
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis
- Must be able to perform all duties listed below safely and follow all of the company's safety procedures
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Preference given to candidates with 5 years of Field Engineer/Surveyor/Rodman experience at meets or exceeds performance expectations
