Job Summary
Collect samples, observation, and inspection of products or raw materials for laboratory analysis by gathering specimens at specified locations, vessels, barges, trucks, and rail. Label containers with identifying data, location, date, and time; deliver samples to the lab; and perform preparation, reduction, and division of appropriate sizes. Conduct sample screening and physical tests while ensuring all equipment and containers are organized and cleaned. Wear required personal protective equipment and adhere to local and federal safety processes. Operate under immediate supervision with on-call and weekend availability, working 8-to-12 hours in the field. Must be comfortable working at heights and in any weather condition.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent
- Valid and current Driver's license
- TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card)
- Intermediate English Advanced
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to work in any weather condition in the field
Desired Qualifications
- 24-hour surface Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) certificate
