Job Summary
Field Technician Maintenance at AMH responsible for repairs, troubleshooting, installation, and ongoing maintenance at AMH properties. Responsibilities include troubleshooting water heater, plumbing, garage door, irrigation, and electrical issues; performing home repairs such as carpentry, drywall, roofing, and fencing; ensuring HVAC systems are operational and performing tune-ups; maintaining equipment in a clean, orderly, and functional condition; updating and completing mobile work orders; regularly engaging with vendors and tenants. Requires a High School diploma/GED (preferred) with Associate degree or technical training a plus, minimum two years of relevant experience (or five years’ experience in lieu of education), valid driver’s license, HVAC EPA Certification or HVAC Type II where applicable, OSHA safety knowledge, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and strong communication and multitasking abilities. Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and operate a vehicle. Compensation ranges from $28.00 to $32.00 per hour plus quarterly bonuses; benefits include health insurance, 401(k) with company matching, tuition reimbursement, PTO, and other company perks.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two years of experience in Residential/Property Maintenance or related field (or five years of experience in lieu of education)
- High School diploma/GED preferred
- Associate degree or technical training certification is a plus
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with an Apple iPad
- HVAC EPA Certification or HVAC Type II Certification required in applicable states
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of OSHA safety methods
- Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a team environment
- Ability to lift/carry up to 75 pounds and operate a motor vehicle and ladders
