Job Summary
Inspect natural gas distribution systems and conduct leak surveys using specialized detection equipment to protect communities and ensure regulatory compliance. Accurately document findings, complete compliance reports, and communicate professionally with homeowners and the public while following strict safety protocols. Walk approximately 4–7 miles daily in various weather conditions, bending and lifting up to 25 pounds, using industry-leading gas detection technology and utility maps. Operate within a group or individually, utilizing smartphones and tablets for tasks. No prior experience is required; paid training and certifications are provided. Full-time position with occasional overtime and weekend work. Personal vehicle allowance includes $800 monthly stipend and $300 fuel card.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT drug screen and background check
- The ability to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain, to bend and stoop, and to lift heavy items
- Ability to walk 4-7 miles per day in varying types of terrain in all types of weather
- Strong reliability and accountability
- Ability to use Simple Hand Tools
- Ability to use and understand utility maps
- Proficient at using technology (smartphone, tablet)
- Active auto insurance (minimum 100/300/100 coverage or $300,000 CSL)
- Proof of insurance provided at renewal
- A vehicle that meets Heath's standards — 4-door, backup camera, hands-free capability, and professional appearance
