Job Summary
Field Technician III responsible for installation, change/decommission, testing, and maintenance of Transport, Ethernet, SONET and IP network layers, including customer premises equipment (CPE) and outside plant fiber. Performs troubleshooting to restore network service, supports fiber quality testing and related analyses, and assists with asset management, materials handling, and PM duties. Requires 5+ years of telecommunications/data center experience, strong technical knowledge of telecom practices (DSO/DS1/DS3, SS7, TCP/IP, Ethernet), ability to work independently or as a team lead, and possession of an active government security clearance. Based in Palm Bay, FL, with on-call 24x7 availability and adherence to safety and company policies.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years Technician experience in a telecommunications/data center environment
- Master knowledge of standard telecommunication practices and technologies (Transmission, Switching, TCP/IP)
- Active government security clearance and reside in the Palm Bay, FL area
- Ability to work in varied conditions and on-call 24x7 rotational support
