Field Technician II - Flushing Services

Job Summary
Install, connect, and commission temporary flushing systems including pump skids, filtration units, and piping for facility water and technology cooling loops. Operate equipment to achieve required flow rates, perform chemical cleaning and passivation, and conduct field water chemistry testing against acceptance criteria. Interpret piping diagrams to plan circuit isolation, monitor filtration changes, and complete accurate logs and shift reports. Provide on-the-job training to entry-level technicians, coordinate daily activities with contractors and commissioning agents, and troubleshoot process issues such as pump cavitation. Shifts are typically 10–12 hours with extensive travel required up to 100% for assignments lasting weeks to months.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 years of hands-on experience in pipe flushing, chemical cleaning, hydronic/HVAC systems, water treatment, pipefitting, or closely related mechanical field services
- Working knowledge of pumps, valves, piping components, filtration equipment, and basic water chemistry
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and written procedures
- OSHA 10 certification
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen for data center site access
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 100%) for extended project assignments
- Proficiency completing digital field documentation and reports
- Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 75 lbs., including pumps, hoses, filter housings, and temporary piping components
- Ability to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Ability to work in confined mechanical spaces for extended periods
- Ability to handle water treatment and cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and company procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Technical or vocational training in a mechanical discipline
- Direct experience flushing chilled water, condenser water, or TCS/liquid cooling loops in data centers or other mission-critical facilities
- Experience supporting commissioning (Cx) activities and working to commissioning agent acceptance criteria
- OSHA 30 certification
- Certifications such as forklift and aerial lift
- DOT medical card or ability to obtain one
