Job Summary
Perform core fiber network duties including splicing fiber optic cables in outdoor conditions and maintaining aerial and underground infrastructure. Execute end-to-end customer installations and repairs, conducting FTTH installations, service drop installations, and troubleshooting connectivity and VoIP issues. Ensure documentation by updating splicing schematics, spreadsheets, and field notes to meet project timelines. Conduct quality control inspections of new plant construction and operate a bucket truck safely per DOT and OSHA standards. Deliver efficient customer service regarding FTTP, gateways, and WiFi while adhering to all safety protocols. Requires a valid driver's license, DOT physical, and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in telecommunications as a splicing technician or an installation technician
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no restrictions
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to work in both underground and aerial environments (e.g., climbing ladders up to 32ft and operating a bucket truck)
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs
- Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays
- Successful completion of DOT physical
