Job Summary
Field Technician I responsible for fabricating, installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic, mechanical, and other components and equipment on MK 41 VLS systems. Works with the GDIT VLS Team to ensure operational status and compliance with required procedures and NAVSEA specifications, identifies and corrects deficiencies, and supports fleet readiness. Must be able to assist in removal, overhaul, testing, and/or installation of VLS components under supervision, travel to and work on USN ships in Chesapeake, VA, and hold a Secret security clearance with US citizenship. Requires 0+ years of experience, proficiency with hand and power tools, ability to operate in shipyard/naval base environments, and willingness to travel 10-25% with on-site (in-person) work arrangement.
Required Qualifications

- Security Clearance Level: Secret and ability to obtain/maintain
- US Citizenship Required
- Ability to assist in removal and/or installation of equipment onboard CG/DDG class USN ships
- Proficient with hand and power tools; ability to drive a stake truck into shipyard/naval base environments
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and basic Excel/Word skills
- Able to perform heavy lifting and prolonged standing on naval deck plates
- Preferred: MK-41 VLS NEC 0981 (desired)
