Job Summary
Field Technician to provide on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance for a fleet of heavy equipment (loaders, excavators, backhoes) at customer job sites. Responsibilities include mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting; performing routine and preventative maintenance; responding to service requests; maintaining repair logs and documenting labor time; ensuring safety compliance and customer satisfaction; collaborating with the service team and providing feedback on equipment usage. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance; candidates with technical certification in heavy equipment maintenance or mechanics are preferred. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and the ability to travel within the assigned territory are expected; a valid driver’s license is required with CDL preferred. Certifications in equipment repair (e.g., ASE, OEM) are a plus. Tools up to 1/2-inch socket are provided by the company.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in heavy equipment maintenance or mechanics preferred
- Experience: 2+ years in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
- Hands-on experience with brands such as Linkbelt, JCB, Hyundai, Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, or similar equipment
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Skills: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred; ASE or OEM certifications a plus
