Job Summary
Conduct safe field visits to deliver service disconnection notices, execute meter cut-offs and restorations, and verify utility meters for tampering or unauthorized usage. Communicate billing disputes and payment options professionally while adhering to strict safety protocols and federal regulations. Walk 4β7 miles daily, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds in various weather conditions using gas detection technology and simple hand tools. Requires a valid driver's license, DOT drug screen, and ability to pass a background check. Weekly pay includes a vehicle allowance and fuel card; paid training leads to industry certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT drug screen and background check
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop on varying terrain, and to lift heavy items
- Ability to walk 4β7 miles per day in all weather conditions
- Strong reliability and accountability
- Proficient using technology (smartphone, tablet)
- Ability to use simple hand tools
- Ability to read and understand utility maps
- Works well within a group as well as individually
