Job Summary
Install customer service drops or outlets in residential and business properties using electronic test equipment and online diagnostic tools. Troubleshoot reception performance issues, resolve problems from customer equipment to the first distribution amplifier, and ensure proper upstream and downstream signal levels at each termination. Proactively suggest upgrades of existing services and educate customers on their new or existing equipment. Maintain a valid driver's license and a good driving record while working in small, confined areas, on ladders, and in all weather conditions. This role requires flexibility for overtime and on-call rotations. As a Cable One/Sparklight Field Technician, you will receive extensive one-on-one and group training, a company truck, uniforms, and access to mentors to support your career growth and community connection.
Required Qualifications
- A good driving record and a valid driver's license in the state you are applying
- Flexibility to go beyond for our customers by working overtime and on-call as needed
- Problem solving
- Ability to listen to customers and present solutions in a positive manner
- Ability to successfully work in small and confined areas
- Ability to lift to 80 lbs
- Ability to work on a ladder
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Demonstrated at least 3 months of customer service or related experience and/or training
- High school diploma or GED
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Background, drug screening, and reference check clearance
- Ability to meet and maintain DOT program requirements including road test, driver's record safety review, drug testing, DOT physical, and past employer safety performance history
