Job Summary
Perform residential fiber optic cable installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for internet, telecom, and video services. Conduct low voltage infrastructure wiring, operate mechanized equipment like bucket trucks and trenchers, and climb poles up to 40 feet. Respond to on-site connectivity issues, resolve LAN/WAN problems, and provide remote assistance to support teams. Manage work orders via dispatch software and CRM, communicate with customers to troubleshoot problems, and mentor new team members. Requires a valid driver's license, 12 months of field technician experience, and proficiency in fiber optics and basic telecom. Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- A valid driver's license, subject to successful verification through a DMV check
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Overtime, nights, and weekends may be required
- Must be able to climb poles up to 40 feet
- Must be able to operate in bucket trucks with 32' plus ladders
- Must be able to operate mechanized equipment such as a bucket truck, excavators, and trencher
- Must be able to distinguish colors and audible tones
- Must be able to maintain a clean driving record as defined by the current fleet insurance underwriter
- Must be able to spend a significant portion of the workday traveling in a vehicle
- Must be able to adhere to and operate within the weight capacity limits specified by manufacturers for equipment and machinery
- Must be able to maintain awareness of potential hazards like uneven terrain, loose pets, or slippery walkways
- Must be able to maintain a safe distance from aggressive or unrestrained animals
- Must be able to maintain a safe distance from potential hazards in the work area, including loose pets, children, and other live obstacles
- Must be able to observe hazards and report any concerns or accidents to a supervisor or safety professional
- Must be able to understand, complete, and sign off all pre-job safety planning tools at the start and end of the shift
- Must be able to understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 12 months of experience as a field technician
- Understanding of Fiber Optic Networks, Basic Telecom, and Video
- Basic knowledge of Apple IPAD
- The ability to effectively communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension
- Proficiency in Spanish Language
- Proficient use of MS Office applications including Teams, teleconferencing applications
- Functional use of common office equipment, computers, and office software
