Job Summary
The Field Tech is responsible for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems, including low, medium, and high voltage equipment. This entry-level position requires a high school diploma or GED, with no prior field experience required. Applicants should possess a basic understanding of electricity, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn. The role includes participating in emergency on-call duty, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and completing work under supervision. The job offers comprehensive training and full benefits, with a pay range of $25-$35 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Basic understanding of electricity and a strong willingness to learn
- Ability to work safely and adhere to electrical safety procedures
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to follow instructions and work under the guidance of experienced technicians
Desired Qualifications
- Technical school experience in electrical systems, power distribution, or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with industry standards such as NETA, NEC, and NFPA is preferred
- Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office, and the use of the internet for research.
