Job Summary
Field Tech Apprentice with hands-on training in inspection, testing, and maintenance of low to high voltage electrical systems, including SF6 equipment, transformers, and switchgear; performs data collection, troubleshooting, and on-call support under supervision; strong safety mindset and willingness to learn in a dynamic field-tech environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- No prior field experience required
- Technical school experience in electrical systems, power distribution, or a related field preferred
- Familiarity with industry standards such as NETA, NEC, OSHA, and NFPA is preferred, but not required
- Basic understanding of electricity and a strong willingness to learn
- Ability to work safely and adhere to electrical safety procedures
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for working with customers and team members
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to follow instructions and work under the guidance of experienced technicians
- Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office, and the use of the internet for research
- For positions requiring company vehicle use, a valid driver’s license is required
