Field Tank Welder - Maintenance and Repair

Job Summary
Tank welders perform welding and grinding on tanks and specialty vessels per job specifications, selecting equipment, planning layout, and assembling welds. They must pass specific weld tests (FCAW 2G/3G/4G, SMAW E7018 2G/3G/4G, E6010 5P 3G, 4G, 9% Nickel Plate tests) and maintain a 95-100% pass rate on weld X-ray/visual exams. Responsible for reading prints, following welding procedure specifications, performing fit-up, post-weld cleanup, inspection, and repair, and coordinating with the Field Foreman. Must be able to travel/relocate frequently and work overtime. Required Qualifications
- Tank Building experience preferred
- Must obtain and maintain active drug testing program status
- Pass Basic Safety Council classes
- Complete Matrix Service Basic Safety training and site-specific training
- Possess valid TWIC card
- Willing to travel/relocate frequently
- Willing to work overtime
- Read prints and follow welding procedures
- Must pass weld tests (e.g., FCAW 2G/3G/4G, SMAW E6010/7018, 9% Nickel Plate tests)
- Maintain a 95-100% pass rate on weld X-ray/visual exams
