Job Summary
Conduct welding and grinding functions per job specifications, including fit-up, preparation, post-weld cleanup, inspection, and repair. Select equipment and plan layout and assembly while communicating regularly with the Field Foreman regarding site issues. Adhere to precise limits and standards of accuracy, ensuring all welds meet required test criteria and safety policies. Maintain a 95-100% pass rate on weld X-ray/visual exams and follow welding procedure specifications. Work extended periods inside confined spaces, often in hot or cold temperatures, with frequent overtime and travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Must obtain and maintain an active status within the drug testing program and pass background screening
- Must possess or be able to pass the Basic Safety Council Class Courses
- Must complete the Matrix Service Basic Safety training and site-specific training
- Must possess a valid TWIC card
- Must be willing to frequently travel/relocate
- Must be willing to work frequent overtime
- Must be able to perform tasks at heights
- Must be able to push, pull, lift or carry objects weighing up to 60 pounds
- Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb
- Must be able to perform required duties for extended periods of time, often inside confined spaces
- Must be able to perform tasks in hot and cold temperatures
- Must be able to read prints and written instructions as well as follow verbal directions required to perform duties and responsibilities
- Must maintain a 95-100% pass rate on weld X-ray/visual exams
- Must follow welding procedure specifications when welding
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Desired Qualifications
- Tank Building experience, preferred
