Job Summary
Receive assignments from project management or technical leads and report status while communicating technical issues. Troubleshoot and configure AC/DC drive equipment, PLC, HMI software, and complex circuits using schematics. Coordinate with stakeholders to commission systems and support customers in the field for new and aging equipment. Perform panel testing in the shop when needed and report activity to upper management. This role requires approximately 60% travel and involves ongoing training to maintain technical competency in industrial automation products and software.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering degree or 5+ years experience in industrial automation
- Strong understanding of motors and drives and how to troubleshoot them
- Aptitude in programming/configuring PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, and GE), drives (Siemens, ABB, and Allen Bradley), and or HMI packages
- Experience in industrial electrical
- Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in automation products, software and complimentary areas
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and Visio
- Communication skills, both written and verbal
- Travel required approximately 60% of the time
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
