Job Summary
Assist the Crew Chief in operating a field survey crew while ensuring work quality, safety, and equipment maintenance. Operate equipment to accurately collect field data, locate features, and record data points using a data collector. Set wooden stakes, cut brush and trees, and document inspections with detailed field notes. Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all safety requirements, including obtaining OSHA 10 Hour, CPR/First Aid, and defensive driving certifications. Carry survey equipment in remote or urban surroundings while standing, walking, and lifting up to 75 pounds year-round in all conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Associate's Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to operate a company vehicle
- Ability to perform all of the physical requirements of position
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Residential or Commercial development and construction project experience
- Preferred experience/knowledge with surveying
- Safety training and certifications which could include, but are not limited to: OSHA 10 Hour, CPR/First Aid, and defensive driving
- Ability to obtain these certifications
