Job Summary
Assist the Crew Chief in operating a field survey crew, ensuring work quality, safety, and equipment maintenance. Operate equipment, collect field data, and locate features while recording accurate surveying notes and data points. Set wooden stakes, clear brush, and document inspections with detailed field notes. Obtain and maintain required safety training, including OSHA 10 Hour, CPR/First Aid, and defensive driving. Adhere to all safety requirements while assisting team members. Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 75 pounds, climbing stairs, and carrying survey equipment in remote or urban surroundings. Travel as needed for residential or commercial development projects.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Associate's Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to operate a company vehicle
- Ability to perform all of the physical requirements of position
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Residential or Commercial development and construction project experience
- Preferred experience/knowledge with surveying
- Safety training and certifications which could include, but are not limited to: OSHA 10 Hour, CPR/First Aid, and defensive driving
- Ability to obtain these certifications
